Lucky Hedgehog Rescue CIC, has a paddock of private land being developed for wildlife & for Hedgehog release. We are inviting volunteers to assist with maintaining and planting it. We need people with fuel run hedgecutters & strimmers, digging tools, and people who would like to donate, & plant if wish to, native woodland plants & bulbs, perhaps some in memory of someone. We hope eventually, some will donate benches, perhaps memorial benches, where providers can come & reflect and for our other community plans such as providing mental health personal space to sit quietly to enjoy the paddock country space & sounds, all visits will be by appointment. Other projects are planned too. We welcome input & support at our rescue and wildlife paddock. If you would like to take part, please let us know which day as there is minimal parking and therefore each day can only accept a certain quantity of vehicles. As a non-profit Community Interest Company, we hope to attract more donors to assist with expanding our rescue and community projects. In the long term we hope to have Vets employed 24/7 and be available to all other wildlife/hedgehog rescues in Yorkshire. In order to rescue Hedgehogs, each rescue needs a vet with empathy and hedgehog/wildlife knowledge, a vet who is willing to go the extra mile to save their lives....then there is finding a vet who will fit them into their fully booked day to save their lives rather than say ‘come tomorrow’ which is often too late. So the ultimate big picture is to employ wildlife vets and leave this rescue and its land as a legacy. See the article in the Yorkshire Post ...
